Confirm drawing control
A drawing without revision control cannot function as a reliable production record.
- Project, room or zone and product code.
- Revision, issue date and approval status.
- References to the current architectural and consultant set.
Review dimensions and interfaces
Dimensions that depend on final site measurement should be flagged rather than silently treated as confirmed.
- Overall, internal and critical interface dimensions.
- Wall, floor, ceiling, stone, appliance and service conditions.
- Fillers, scribes, shadow gaps, access panels and site joints.
Review construction and finish
The finish sample and drawing should reference one another so appearance and construction cannot drift apart.
- Substrate, visible surfaces, edge treatment and grain direction.
- Hardware model, quantity, location and opening clearances.
- Glass, metal, lighting and specialist component responsibility.
Record approval comments
Approval should state what is released and what remains conditional. Email fragments should not replace a controlled drawing revision.
- Use one consolidated comment register.
- Identify accepted deviations and open items.
- Require a clean revised issue after comments are closed.

Attach the relevant checklist to the current drawing, quotation or approval record. Keep one decision register alongside marked-up drawings. Close a comment only when the responsible party and revision are recorded.
